Born and raised in Claverack, Brian is the son of the late Paul and Theresa Keeler. He grew up on the family’s dairy farm on Webb Rd/Spook Rock Rd with brothers PJ, Robert, Conway, and Ned. As a young adult, Brian worked in the family’s Hallmark Card store in Hudson where he learned valuable business and customer service skills.
Brian attended the Claverack Elementary School and graduated from Hudson High School and the University of Alabama, where he studied Communication and Business. He has extensive experience in business and management, having successfully served as President and Chief Operating Officer of various companies. He has managed and directed a $30M business with over 200 employees and was a successful local small business owner (Kd Office Works) for 15 years.
Brian is a 30 year member of the Claverack Fire Company, where he has served in several leadership roles. He has served on the boards of the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, Hudson Lions Club, Workforce Investment, and several other civic groups. He and his wife Martha have two children – son Sean who is an Army Officer stationed in Ft. Riley, KS, and daughter Caroline, a college student at the University of Alabama.
Brian was elected to the Claverack Town Board in November 2013. As Town Councilman, Brian serves as liaison to the Town Planning Board, Town Court, Emergency Services, Youth/Park/Recreation, Town Historian, and Finance/Accounting/Budget.
